I'm so sorry I haven't been posting guys! I have no news, for one thing, since I've been sitting at home doing nothing all day all summer, but also because I got a deviantart account and now all my internet stuff happens there. I haven't forgotten about This Just Occurred To Me, and I will post once I have news for you to read!
Sorry again!!!

Jem Is Pwning Gale and Other News
Hey y'all,
I'd like to start out by saying *SPOILER ALERT*!!!! There are spoilers below for The Hunger Games, The Infernal Devices, and other series. Just FYI if you haven't read all possible books in these fantastic serials, read at your own risk.
In case you hadn't already realized, I have a serious fiction addiction–teen fiction to be exact. So you see why the YA Sisterhood's 2nd annual Crush Tourney is especially exciting to me. Four from Divergent has won his first match, as has Cassandra Clare's gorgeous and fantastic and tragic Will Herondale from the Infernal Devices. Magnus Bane (another of Cassie's creations) has also won his, if I'm not mistaken, and Finnick Odair is in the lead in his current match.
But onto the most thrilling YA Crush Tourney results.
The beautiful Jem Carstairs (who I plan to steal away from Tessa) is currently leading Gale Hawthorne (who everyone seems to love, but I have a very strong dislike for–TEAM PEETA BABY) 85% to 15%. Looks like Gale is going down YET AGAIN. Need I remind everyone of who Katniss actually chooses in the end? That's right. Point made. VOTE FOR JEM, FAITHFUL READERS!
Anyway, that was just a quick update on how that's going for my faves!
*SPOILER ALERT OVER*
Those of you who skipped that paragraph, go ahead and read this spoiler-free section!
I'm on DeviantArt now, if you want to check out my art! It's mostly FMA fan art, but hey. Just go and see it anyway! I'm ~IncurableFangirl so give me a few views!
Thanks for reading my update!
Have the best day ever,
Iza

My Apologies
Hey,
Again, it's been a loooong time since I posted anything for you to peruse! I have been doing things, things that involve me being away from my computer! Let me offer you something to apologize:
Again, it's been a loooong time since I posted anything for you to peruse! I have been doing things, things that involve me being away from my computer! Let me offer you something to apologize:
I hope you enjoyed those! Speaking of learning me a book, I have been learning me some books lately, too! Specifically, The Curse Workers trilogy by Holly Black, part of the conspiracy that is All Fantastic Teen Fiction Authors. To elaborate on my conspiracy theory: there is a small group of writers that seem to have written almost all teen fiction that I find
a) enjoyable
b) interesting and
c) addictive.
They also seem to share tastes of mine such as
a) funny captions on pictures
b) Fullmetal Alchemist (Scott Westerfeld, I saw that Leviathan/FMA crossover pic you posted on your blog) and
c) EACH OTHER'S NOVELS!
Plus there are top-secret REFERENCES in their novels TO EACH OTHER'S NOVELS!!! Holly Black is particularly guilty of this, she and Cassandra Clare reference each other's work so much it's crazy! Anyone who has read their novels in detail will know what I'm saying. Cassel thinking about Team Good in Black Heart? I see what you did there, Holly. That was clever. That was exceedingly clever. Anyway, feel free to come to your own conclusions about this strange phenomenon.
Have I mentioned that whoever wins that coffee with Scott Westerfeld at Comic Con on the 14th of July at 4:00 PM (not a stalker, this is the info on his blog) is the luckiest person on this planet? I WANT TO BE THEM SO BADLY! It's not so much the coffee with him that I'm jealous of (though that is EXTRA cool), it's when he brings up FMA cosplayers and going to chill with them that I just...three of my greatest loves (FMA and Leviathan and Uglies) all together in an hour of awesome...that would be THE COOLEST THING EVER!
Sorry, I keep going into random all-caps moments.
Anyway, if anyone reads this and they've won the contest, give me your spot because I will gladly take it.
Seriously, give me the prize.
Now.
Okay, before I go too manic, I'm going to sign off. Think about the conspiracy, guys, and comment telling me what you think of it.
Enjoy summer and keep on chilling!

Overcompensating For My Lack Of Posts
Hey,
Sorry it's been so long since I've written! I had exams :( which are no fun. But now school is over and I can write plenty! So I recently read Fullmetal Alchemist (a manga about alchemy and the Philosopher's stone and stuffs which I won't reveal in case of even minor spoilers) and it was A-MA-ZING! I am watching the anime (Brotherhood, not the original. It comes on high recommendation) and it is so crazy to hear the characters come to life with voices and stuff! I don't have too much to say, but I will let you guys in on some fun news! I got a dog! AAAAAAH she's so cute. She's a 9.5 lb. 1-year-old Dachsund. Her name is Rockie and if I can get a picture onto my computer (all my pics of her are on my phone) I'll show ya. Anywho, time for some music recommendations.
POP MUSIC:
-Summer Paradise (feat. Sean Paul) by Simple Plan is a personal favourite of mine at the time
-Life of the Party by Aleesia is SO CATCHY it's stuck in my head and won't go away
-Count On Me by Bruno Mars is very sweet, another great song by one of my favourite pop artists
RANDOM NON-MAINSTREAM MUSIC:
-Heart of Courage by Two Steps From Hell is dang epic! A recommendation from a good friend of mine
-The Last Stand by Two Steps From Hell is almost as epic as Heart of Courage. I am so obsessed with Two Steps From Hell right now guys, it's not even funny!
-To Glory by Two Steps From Hell is VERY intense!!!! Basically any Two Steps From Hell music appeals to me
So that's it for music from me. In terms of other stuff to check out, my Two Steps From Hell recommending friend is on deviantART so check her gallery out if you want to see some cool art. Not all of it can be understood by me (and maybe you, too, readers) as there is lots of Homestuck fan art. But hey, the pictures are still fantastic and to be viewed by anyone who so chooses.
She's on the website as ~cafhin if you want to give her some page views. She sometimes mentions me as 'The Girl Who Makes Me Read.'
And onto books! The Steampunk Chronicles by Kady Cross are current favourites of mine, so far there are only two books out (the second is still in hardcover), The Girl In The Steel Corset and The Girl In The Clockwork Collar. There's an edition of Steel Corset that includes the prequel novella The Strange Case of Finley Jayne which I recommend reading, since it gives you some insight into certain occurrences and characters, plus there are some details in the other two books that you'll get after reading Strange Case (and nods to it by the author). Love these books. I don't think they get a lot of love in popular culture, definitely not as much as their fellow steampunk books (example: Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices series–WHICH IS AWESOME!). Read them NOW!
So that's about it for me. I'm hanging around the house pretty much all summer, no big plans this year, so I'll be posting lots for your reading pleasure!
Keep calm and party on!

Exams And Books And Summer, Oh My
Hey peeps
SO SO SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN WRITING LATELY!!!! But I have to study for my exams (blah) and haven't had, like, ANY computer time at all. I really want to do well this year, like REALLY well, and soooo I've been devoting a lot of my time to that. It's my math mark that matters the most to me, though, since I need to get a 90+ mark on that to get into Advanced Math next year, and in my social circles, to not have that happen would be like a jock not making a sports team. Yeah. My friends are geniuses, what can I say?
Annnyway, I recently read a couple of Cory Doctorow books. Cory Doctorow writes tech-centered YA novels, often rather dystopian. Little Brother, the first of his books that I read for a school project, and it's really really cool. It's a story about the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) going crazy on security after a terrorist attack, and getting really invasive and spooky. They're always watching, following your travel patterns, watching where you drive using transit cards...it's creepy and yet AMAZING, I loved the characters, and the story was really compelling. I needed to use Google a bit for it, though, just because sometimes he started using computer terms I'm not familiar with, or his explanations of computer functioning got a little advanced for my non-I.T.-centered brain. Anyway. His other YA book, For The Win, I know, I know, the most fantastic book title ever. I read it. I just finished it this morning, and it was really interesting. It's about online games and people that are abusing the system in different ways, it's about those games being world economies. It's about the people who are suffering because of the abuse of those games (known as 'gold farmers,' that will be explained if you read the book) demanding their rights. I highly recommend these books to most 13+ year olds, but keep in mind if you're squeamish or if you're not ready for some graphic violence, these aren't the best books for you. They're quite strong in content and description. Just a warning.
Also, summer is very close. I'm really excited! So many partays lined up for this summer, can't wait! So my reader challenge for today is: let me know what your favourite summer memories are, and what you're most looking forward to THIS summer!
Enjoy your last days of school, we're in the home stretch now!

City of Lost Souls asdjkfslc
City of Lost Souls came out 5 days ago and I'm sorry to say that I haven't posted about it yet. But I have read it (in fact, I finished it yesterday) and OH MY GOSH it was totally fantastic! It was exceedingly angst-filled, which makes it just so much better, and I'd just like to say that Ms. Cassie Clare has TOTALLY outdone herself. So many nods to her other wonderful series, The Infernal Devices, and her future series which is in the works, The Dark Artifices that my head was exploding with a capital EX!
What can I say, I loved it for the abundance of Simon as much as anything else, and not to mention the infamous 'Mysterious Places'. Wink, wink to those who have read this book already.
In other news, not quite as exciting but still happy-making:
Yesterday I was out for dinner with the fam and we were outside on the patio IN T-SHIRTS (well, I was in a T-shirt) and I wasn't even cold. Summer's on the way! PARTAY PARTAY PARTAY! Little rhyme for you there. So that's all for this post.
Later gators,
Iza
PS I'd like to leave you with these words of wisdom:
Haters gonna hate
Potatoes gonna potate
Alligators gonna alligate
Keep that in mind.

My Arm Hurts!!!! And MR Manga
Hey,
First off, I have arm pain! I was sitting on a chair at my kitchen table and I fell off and then the chair fell on my arm! And now my right arm is numb and burning with pain at the same time. I don't even know how that's possible!! But in other news, I've read the first 3 volumes of the Maximum Ride manga and I'll just say that it is EPIC! I mean, I'm not totally crazy about Fang's man-ponytail (just didn't picture him as the man-ponytail type, ya know?) but he cuts it off in volume 2 and so...it's all good. For those of you that have joined the story of my life late, Maximum Ride is the story of 6 human-avian hybrid kids, constantly on the run from people who want to kidnap/study/torture/destroy them. Look it up if you still want to know more. I just finished volume 3 today (which consists of the first half of book 2, the mangas are divided up differently than the books because of how pictures take up more room than words on a page. It's simple to read for all of you non-manga-ers as it reads left to right rather than right to left like traditional Japanese manga, so I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to pick up a light read. As well, read the books themselves-it makes the manga experience so much better.

So here he is pre-haircut
And here he is with Max, both post-haircut and generously coloured in!
A message to whoever's reading this post: since I love your comments oh so much, let me know which hair look you like best!
And now I must go to bed, for I regrettably have early-morning tennis tomorrow.
Good night.
